PURPOSE OF POSITION: To perform instructional duties in the absence of the teacher. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Required Qualifications: High School diploma or high school equivalency certificate. NM Substitute Teaching License. Must be 21 years of age for grades 9-12. Completion of substitution training workshop(s) and online trainings. Preferred Experience: Minimum of three years of successful experience as classroom teacher in a secondary level school. Required Skills: A passion for learning and teaching; international-minded. Ability to deliver lesson plan which stimulates and motivates students to learn. Positive Attitude. Effective communication skills with students, parents and the general public. Good oral and written communication skills. Calmness under pressure. Resilience, commitment and confidence. Both independent and content within a team environment. Flexible, adaptable and persuasive .
