Job description

Summary of Essential Functions: - Serves as a patient care team member with an emphasis on drawing blood aseptically from patients in the hospital and employees as needed. - Performs specimen collection for employee drug and COVID-19 screening. - Performs routine laboratory tasks related to receiving and processing specimens of any type including but not limited to whole blood, blood components, body fluids, lower respiratory samples, wounds, and tissues. - Performs clerical processes including but not limited to order entry, report processing, and computer data entry. Educational Requirements: - High School Diploma or equivalent. - Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. License and Certifications: - Phlebotomy certification preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: - Phlebotomy experience and preferred. - Must be able to communicate with other persons effectively and courteously. - Understand and comprehend basic medical terminology to transcribe physician orders. - Must be able to prioritize work according to written instructions using organizational skills and sound judgment.
