Department/Unit: Cardio-Respiratory Services Work Shift: Per Diem (United States of America) Salary Range: $40,310.00 - $52,403.00 The Monitor Technician I have the responsibilities of 1) recording electrocardiograms (EKGs) of customers ranging in age from newborn to geriatric; 2) downloading EKGs from cart to MUSE EKG Computer System; 3) delivering cardiac rhythm strips from the telemetry station to the various nursing units and posting these strips in specified unit locations 4) performing miscellaneous duties related to cardiac monitoring including but not limited to troubleshooting telemetry transmitter packs (i.e., replacing worn electrodes, changing batteries, changing wires, etc.); 5) assisting in the search and retrieval of misplaced telemetry transmitter packs and cardiac pacemakers; and 6) educating various disciplines in EKG technique.
