Chief Construction Inspector - Transmission Construction

Job description

The primary function of this position is to plan, manage, execute, direct, and/or supervise the activities of company inspectors, company contractors, and municipal, transit authority, or private contractors that are performing various construction projects within areas such as public roadways, highway, utility rights-of-way, or bridges. Ensure all work is done in strict compliance with applicable company specifications, standards and procedures, as well as all regulatory requirements. In addition, Chief Construction Inspectors (CCIs) are responsible to properly maintain, protect, and support the integrity of company facilities during construction projects, and ensure all work is completed within the specified schedule and budget. Core Responsibilities: - Supervise field personnel including union inspectors, and contractors, ensuring they understand and follow contract scope, drawings, and specifications. - Conduct and oversee field inspections to verify contractor compliance with safety protocols, NYC DOB Code, Code 753, and environmental regulations. - Lead safety and training initiatives such as Job Briefings, Job Site Safety Exchanges, toolbox talks, and on-the-job training; ma...
