Description The Department of World Languages and Cultures in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University invites applications for a term full-time faculty appointment for Academic Year 2019-2020. Rank will be dependent on experience and stature in the field. The appointment is a 9-month term position and will commence on August 26, 2019. Qualifications: Applicants should hold at least a Master’s degree in TESOL or a closely related field. At least three years of successful ESL and EFL teaching; experience in teaching academic writing at the university level; knowledge of contemporary approaches to second language/multilingual writing are required. Experience in graduate level teaching and language teacher education are strongly preferred. The position will require the incumbent to teach three sections of TESL-010: Academic Writing for Graduate Students per semester; work collaboratively with other TESOL faculty and TESOL Program Director to ensure consistency and continuity of TESL-010 curriculum across multiple sections; and oversee curriculum revisions for this course.
