Job description

Location: Detroit, MI Koil is a Detroit-based steel service center that processes and distributes various flat rolled metal products. Koil is a wholly-owned business of Cleveland-Cliffs and has an immediate opportunity for a General Laborer on Day Shift at our operation in Detroit. The General Laborer is responsible for the processing of scrap metals using various tools and equipment. Summary of Responsibilities: Set up and operate uncoiler and recoiler controls and arms and other slitter related equipment. Assist operator on operation of slitter and packaging equipment. Properly tag customer size on cuts and package according to written and verbal instruction. Follow all safety procedures while operating and assisting on equipment. i.e. coil cart, banding tools, overhead cranes, forklifts. Assist where needed when slitter is not running. Maintain proper housekeeping in work area. Must follow all safety protocols. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: HS Diploma or GED required.
