Mental Health Therapist - Behavioral Health Sciences - Full Time

Job description

Position Summary: The goal of a mental health therapist is to promote functioning behavioral patterns within patients by helping them find their own healthy coping mechanism, establish advantageous behavior and maintain rational thought process. This is to be achieved as part of a treatment team through individual and group methods in which they physical and psychological stability of the patient is the focus. Education, License & Cert: Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, mental health counseling or related field with a minimum of 2 years of mental health experience. Experience: One year of experience in related field. This year can be obtained through an internship. Essential Functions: 1. Assists in the assessment and treatment planning of assigned patients. 2. Provides a variety of therapeutic treatment modalities including group, individual, couples, family and crisis counseling. This includes therapeutic interactions with patient’s family members during visiting hours. 3. Maintains adequate documentation consisting of case notes, psychosocials, ED admission paperwork, and additional procedural documentation when necessary.
