Shift: Days Job type: Per Diem: Hours: AM and PM flexibility: Position Summary: Follows a menu to prepare and cook meats, fish, poultry, gravies, cereals, soups, vegetables and other food according to proper preparation methods. Familiar with a variety of food service concepts, practices, and procedures, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. May lead and direct the work of others. Primary Duties: 1. Previews menus and work orders to determine type and quantities of meats, vegetables, soups, salads and desserts to be obtained and prepared, according to recipes. 2. Plans and coordinates cooking schedules so that foods will be ready at required times. 3. Prepares, seasons and cooks food; helps to serve food and beverages on patient/resident meal tray line. 4. Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipes. 5. Uses a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment including grinders, slicers, mixers and blenders. 6. Ensures that all foods prepared meet standards for quality, temperature, freshness, taste and appearance. 7.
