Department: Diagnostic Imaging Schedule/Status: Full Time: Standard Hours/Week: 40: General Description: The Nuclear Medicine - PET Technologist reports to the Nuclear Medicine PET Supervisor, performs diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine PET procedures, handles radioactive materials in compliance with Federal and State regulatory agencies, performs quality control on equipment, and interacts with physicians and support personnel in coordination of patient studies. REQUIREMENTS: - Demonstrates Competency in all procedures within the scope of practice, as appropriate to the ages of the patients served evidenced by: The ability to obtain information and interpret information in terms of the patient’s needs; a knowledge of growth and development; and understanding of how to compensate technical factors to provide an optimal clinical image for interpretation. - Provides for ordering, safe storage and routing of supplies and radio nuclides in Nuclear Medicine PET in the absence of the Nuclear Medicine PET Supervisor. Receives, assays radio nuclides, prepares doses and kits, performs dose calculations and administers radiopharmaceutical as appropriate for the procedure requested....
