Temporary assignment for approximately 52 weeks Position Summary: Under the delegation of a Supervising Orthopaedic Surgeon, the role of the Physician Assistant is to coordinate and evaluate patient care for selected patients within the area. The Orthopaedic Surgery PA will work for surgeons in the Fracture and Orthopaedic clinic at St Joe’s, and across emergent and inpatient areas. Key Responsibilities: •Perform patient consultations, histories, and comprehensive assessments, including pre- and post operative surgical assessments. •Assist with treatment planning, follow-up care, and patient education •Perform joint injections and other procedures within the PA scope •Order and interpret diagnostic tests •Collaborate with surgeons, residents, fellows, medical students, nurses, and allied health staff •Contribute to clinic flow and coordination of care Research Involvement: The PA will also participate in ongoing orthopaedic research initiatives focused on robotic surgery, enhanced recovery pathways, and emerging musculoskeletal technologies.
