Job description

Delivers critical and non critical patient care services to all age groups using selected invasive and noninvasive techniques related to the cardiopulmonary system. Provides respiratory care in in-patient and out-patient areas. Demonstrates a high level of commitment and professionalism. Must practice within scope of practice in accordance with the licensure act. Performs and monitors patient progress and response to service. Assesses patients and makes appropriate recommendations based on outcomes with regard to therapeutic interventions. In accordance with hospital policy and procedure, performs all duties as a respiratory care practitioner as assigned. Performs invasive and noninvasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Correctly records all information in the patient legal record and maintains department records. Educates patients on their diseases state, wellness, home care modalities and safety. Treatments performed as related to age specific needs. Educates/Precepts students and new orientee’s to the roles/responsibilities of a RCP Applies technical knowledge to consult physicians with regard to cardiopulmonary status.
