Job description

The Med/Surge RN Assistant Manager will partner with an assigned Nurse Manager to provide oversight for patient care and nursing services on their assigned unit and shift. This includes promoting quality, evidence-based care, and patient satisfaction in a fiscally responsive manner. Assistant Nurse Managers will work 2 x 12-hour shifts as Charge RN, and 2 x 8-hour shifts in an administration role at the UT Health San Antonio Multispecialty & Research Hospital. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to exercise independent judgment Education: Licensure/Certification: - Directly supervises and evaluates the provision of patient care by other personnel assigned to the unit. - Makes daily patient rounds and completes random chart audits. - Manages staff to meet established productivity targets as appropriate. Review staffing/nursing assignments and revise them as necessary to meet the specific needs of the patients on a shift-by-shift basis. - Coordinates staffing with Central Staffing Office/House Supervisor.
