The Role of the Operations Supervisor - Materials Recovery Facility Manages operations department including day-to-day supervision of operations services. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR (MATERIALS RECOVERY FACILITY/TRANSFER STATION) - Schedules employees and assigns employees to balance workload. Arranges alternate coverage of service in case of employee absence or equipment failure. - Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. - Monitors work to ensure efficient and effective operations. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of operations, department, or work crew. - Checks incoming and outgoing material for quality standards. - Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel. - Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
