Position Title: Interpreter Division: Family & Student Support/School: Reports To: Principal and/or Instructional Coordinator - ESE FLSA Status: Exempt: Salary Schedule: SS7-3 (HS Diploma); SS7-2 (Associate's); SS7-1 (Bachelor's); SS7 (Master's) Work Days: 183: Qualifications: - Be an active member of the students’ educational team and understand the educational goals and daily objectives for students on the caseload. - Equally facilitate communication and support the full interaction of students. - Render message faithfully, including class lectures, discussions, tests and other activities by conveying the content and spirit of what is being communicated, using language most readily understood by students. - Preview curriculum materials and/or confer with regular classroom teacher and the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) teacher in order to accurately interpret information and vocabulary presented. - Attend IEP meetings. - Attend school staff meetings as directed. - Sign all verbal communication as well as environmental sounds when appropriate. - Voice all signed communication when appropriate. - Work with the classroom teacher to ensure that all educational content, language and visual...
