Position Summary Working Lead, coordinates scheduling and efforts of the Ultrasound Techs. Mentors and trains staff. Position coordinates with other departments the day-to-day activity for routine, portable and invasive patient procedures. Works with the Manager of Radiology, the Radiologists, and other personnel to supervise and perform technical procedures in General and Vascular Ultrasound. - Coordinates the scheduling and efforts of the Ultrasound Technologists. Mentors new and less experienced staff and students. - Performs general ultrasound procedures for patients of all age groups served. Duties include: general operating procedures, start up procedures, calibration of equipment, troubleshooting, QC, preventative maintenance, malfunctioning equipment and problem solving. Assists in evaluation of new procedures, reagents and equipment. Ensures correct exam is performed with the right patient, at the right time, verifies patient identification with proper film. Explains procedure and assesses the patient before testing occurs.
