Kerby Portland, OR 97227 Phone: (503) 249-1721 Fax: (503) 548-1344 SUMMER NON-CERTIFIED TEACHER (ACADEMICS) JOB DESCRIPTION: The Summer Non-Certified Teacher provides classroom instruction in various core academic subject areas (math, reading, science, etc.) for students participating in the SEI Summer Programs. Teachers will develop daily lesson plans, class instruction and supervision of students in the elementary, middle, or high school summer program. This position requires advanced knowledge of and experience working with the African American community. This would be demonstrated by knowledge of the traditions, values, and customs of the community being served as well as the ability to identify specific examples of experience (professional and lived) working directly with individuals and families who identify with the African American community.
