First Hydro Company, part of ENGIE, operates the Dinorwig and Ffestiniog pumped storage hydroelectric power stations in North Wales. These unique stations play a vital role in balancing the UK’s electricity grid. Our IT team supports the digital infrastructure that keeps these operations running securely and efficiently. The Opportunity: We are offering a 12-month industrial placement for a motivated undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. This is a hands-on role supporting the daily operations of desktop, server, and mobile systems in a live industrial environment. Alongside this, you will be given projects to assist in our Digital journey and transition to Cloud technologies. Putting these together you will gain a solid base of experience for any career in the IT industry. The role is site based, at Dinorwig Power Station, Llanberis – in the heart of Snowdonia, North Wales.
