Vice Chair for Research, Associate/Full Professor, Emergency Medicine (Tenure-Track)

Job description

Description The Vice Chair for Research will work under the direction of the Systems Chair and in collaboration with other departmental Vice Chairs, Division Chiefs, and Center Directors to provide overall vision, leadership, and coordination of the Department of Emergency Medicine's diverse research team and portfolio that includes clinical, health services, laboratory, translational, operations, and education research. The successful candidate for this position must have a MD, MD/PhD, or PhD. The candidate would be considered for faculty rank of tenured Associate Professor or Professor at RSOM. We seek candidates with current extramural research funding, including federal grants (e.g., NIH, AHRQ, CDC) and other funding agencies. Leadership is an important feature of this position, and successfully mentoring and leading teams of investigators is also an important qualification. This research leader will focus on the development of faculty researchers and expanding the structures that support research in the Department and across the Stony Brook Medicine system.
