Job Summary The Emergency Medical Technician I (EMT I) provides basic emergency medical care and transportation in accordance with applicable state laws, departmental policies, and established clinical protocols. Working under the direction of a Paramedic or clinical leader, the EMT I supports patient care within the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) department and ensures the safe, efficient delivery of pre-hospital care. The EMT I is responsible for maintaining equipment, documenting patient information, and promoting safety and communication within the EMS team. Essential Functions: - Provides basic emergency medical care in accordance with applicable state scope of practice and departmental policies and procedures. - Assists with patient assessment, vital sign monitoring, and delivery of care under the supervision of a Paramedic or clinical leader. - Administers first aid treatments, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), bandaging wounds, controlling bleeding, immobilizing fractures, and assisting with breathing as assigned. - Operates emergency vehicles safely and in compliance with hospital policy and local traffic laws. - Conducts vehicle and equipment checks at the st...
