Job description

Under general supervision, the Painting Tech I applies coats of paint, varnish, and stain to maintain and protect interior and exterior surfaces, including trim, walls, and ceilings throughout Liberty University. The role requires independent work and exercising good judgment and discretion ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Reports to work on time and perform duties as assigned by the Painting Supervisor or Lead. 2. Work 1st or 2nd shift and participate in the “Available to Work” rotation as needed, including emergency or non-routine maintenance after hours. 3. Demonstrate familiarity with standard painting trade concepts, practices, and procedures. 4. Ensure proper care and maintenance of equipment and supplies. 5. Smooth and prepare surfaces by sanding and removing old paint using paint removers, scrapers, wire brushes, or heat guns. 6. Tape, mud, and texture walls and ceilings. 7. Apply coatings to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, and sprayers. 8. Assist with filling nail holes, cracks, and joints using caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers with appropriate tools. 9. Prime surfaces as needed. 10.
