SENIOR ENGINEER - SYSTEM PROTECTION

Job description

Position Summary Description Performs transmission and generation design and settings, including managing diverse work assignments requiring highly developed professional judgment and knowledge of transmission and generation protection systems. As required, provides assistance to departments within Seminole associated with protection and control systems. Essential Functions: - Designs complex transmission and generation protection schemes to insure BES integrity - Performs project management on system protection projects - Works on green-field and brown-field (retrofit) Protection and Control Projects - Prepares, reviews and verifies system protection design and settings, transmission protection schematics and relay elementary diagrams, and relay test plans for new transmission protection systems - Serves as subject matter expert for assigned NERC standards - Reviews and approves staff and consultant designs and calculations for Seminole protection schemes to assure proper system operation - Reviews inventory for relay protection components for facility ratings purposes - Analyzes all system disturbances for Seminole and all member delivery points to ascertain cause/effect and reme...
