Mechanical Technician

Job description

Overview The Mechanical Technician is responsible for independently executing mechanical maintenance and repair activities in support of safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role works under general supervision and supports mechanical engineers and supervisors with planning, execution, documentation, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems and equipment. Responsibilities: - Estimate workload and required resources to establish realistic job completion dates - Perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on mechanical equipment, including pumps and air compressors - Execute work in accordance with approved job plans, drawings, and procedures - Support mechanical engineers with the planning, installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment - Identify equipment issues and recommend corrective actions to supervisors or engineers - Review job packs prior to execution to ensure work readiness and accuracy - Provide feedback on job pack quality and suggest improvement opportunities to Execution FLS - Record equipment history, completed work, and findings in required systems such as the Global Reliability Tool (GRT), data sheets, and maintenance recor...
