Hospital Attendant - Ambulatory Surgery Center - Full Time Evening Shift (12:00 PM - 8:30 PM) Position Summary: At Stony Brook Medicine, our Hospital Attendants are valuable members of our team, who attend to the daily living and personal hygiene needs of patients in order to make patients more comfortable. They may also devote considerable time to housekeeping and cleaning tasks related to patient care and to the transporting of patients. Qualified candidates should demonstrate excellent intrapersonal skills and time management skills. They should have attention to detail and be able to work with all levels of the organization. Duties of a Hospital Attendant in the Ambulatory Surgery Center may include the following but are not limited to: - Picks up and removes hazardous articles which may be on floors, furniture, and equipment and places them in designated receptacles. - Removes all waste from operating room. - Suction canisters, including Neptune devices, are removed appropriately. - Washes floors and equipment as needed including OR beds and surgical lights and booms, walls, kick buckets, glass cabinets, positioning devices. - Changes bed linens. - May set up equipment in assi...
