Job description

The Supervisor of Respiratory is responsible for overseeing and administration of oxygen, therapeutic gas, and respiratory medications to patients in accordance with physician orders and their license practice act within department guidelines and policies. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to accomplish responsibilities. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Leads and directs the work of others. - Compliance/Quality - Ensures all staff utilize all equipment, supplies, facilities, and resources in a prudent and efficient manner in order to ensure efficient departmental operations and the provision of high-quality health care services. - Assists in the development and implementation of continuous quality improvement programs and participates in multi-disciplinary continuous quality improvement efforts. Assists in ensuring that all services provided by the department are performed with compassion, understanding, and respect for others. - Interfaces with laboratory and MIS/CIS to troubleshoot hospital computer system in an effort to ensure optimal system performance and compliance with established computer standards.
