Overhead Crane Electrical Design Engineer (Controls & Systems) Location: Ashland, VA (Onsite) Shift: Day Shift (1st Shift) Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 Months) Pay: Starting at $39+/hour (based on experience) Position Summary: We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer with experience in crane systems and industrial controls to support the development and support of overhead lifting equipment. This role is responsible for designing electrical systems, assisting with system startup, and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently in accordance with industry standards. This is a fully onsite position requiring hands-on involvement in both design and field support activities. What You’ll Be Responsible For: Electrical Design & System Development: - Create electrical designs for overhead lifting systems including bridge, gantry, monorail, and workstation cranes - Develop schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts using CAD software - Specify components such as VFDs, conductor bars, festoon systems, limit switches, and safety devices - Perform calculations related to load requirements, power distribution, and motion control (hoist, trolley, bridge, and below...
