Staff Accountant

Job description

General Purpose: Responsible for all accounting activity relating to specific milk marketing division, for transactions that occur from farm pick-up through final sale. This includes: balancing raw milk load sales, billing customers, reporting information to the Milk Market Administrator, and performing analyses of financial information to provide support to management with accurate and timely reports. Duties and Responsibilities: - Maintains the general ledger for specific milk divisions, including the preparation and posting of journal entries necessary for monthly closing - Prepares and distributes invoices for customers in SAP using marketing price announcements and the appropriate Federal Order Classification of pounds and pricing - Prepares appropriate transfer charges and credits to and from other internal divisions or Fluid Areas - Prepares outside milk purchase calculations and creates payment requests for milk vendors related to the assigned division - Monitors all transaction activity regarding assigned milk division to confirm accuracy of detail, including the input of external purchased volume - Balances transactional data for all assigned customers while using detaile...
