Position Summary: Responsible for the assistance in the coordination of technical operations for the "core lab" designated sections (Chemistry, Special Chemistry, Hematology, Serology, Urinalysis and Coagulation, and Blood Bank, in applicable laboratories) Experience: 6 years direct experience in clinical laboratory disciplines License & Education: - ASCP Certification, New York State Medical Technologist license required. - Education in accordance with the NYS Office of Professions and CLIA requirements of testing personnel. Essential Functions: appropriate maintenance of all techniques and instrumentation in areas of responsibility, including correct response to instrument malfunctions. Works to correct problems with quality assurance, quality control and instruct staff regarding appropriate measures to ensure accuracy of results. evaluation of the most effective methods, reagents and controls. friendly procedure manuals, orientation and competency documentation and assists with the compilation of data needed for other laboratory publications.
