Job description
Marine Electronics Technologist is accountable for the effective operation, maintenance and repair of the electronics and automation equipment installed on Seaspan Marine vessels. The objective of the Marine Electronics Technologist involves managing, planning and responding to electronic equipment and systems on board Seaspan vessels, providing and implementing repair recommendations, overseeing the planned maintenance program, and providing guidance and mentorship to vessel crews and shoreside maintenance personnel. This role acts as a resource for the shipboard crew and shoreside maintenance personnel regarding routine maintenance of the vessels. Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 10 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver. What you'll do: - Participates in the planning and management of the annual electronics budgets and resource allocation for the Seaspan fleet. This includes planning for obsolescence and implementation of emerging technologies and equipment over vessel operational life. - Maintains all regulatory licences, contracts and service agreements for the marine electronics.
