Description The Department of Chemistry in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University invites applications for the endowed Isbell Chair in Chemistry from well-established scholars beginning August 1, 2022. The Isbell Chair supports the exciting growth of sciences at AU, including the new Hall of Science, a state-of-the-art research and teaching facility which houses the Departments of Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, and Neuroscience. Depending on qualifications, the appointee will be recommended for tenure at the associate or full professor rank at the time of hiring. The faculty member hired into this role will continue their commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service. Central to the Isbell Chair’s efforts will be inclusive excellence to support AU’s commitment to learning for and leading toward an equitable world.
