Job description

Serves as the Governmental Letter of Authority (GLOA) Security Officer specially commissioned to patrol and perform regulatory duties related to the safeguarding of Dallas County property. Works outside direct supervision, completes routine police reports and forms, carries firearms and intermediate weapons; attends TXDPS and law enforcement in-service training; enforces fire code/county ordinances and other life safety codes; monitors fire and life safety equipment; operates patrol vehicles and directs traffic; assists Marshal Service peace officers as directed. Management Scope: May provide leadership to Public Safety Screeners. 1. Performs security duties in and around County property and assists in controlling disturbances and access on County property, takes necessary action to prevent injury to persons and loss of property, and reports all circumstances to immediate supervisor in addition to completing court ready police reports. 2.
