Finance Analyst - IPL

Job description

The City of Independence is looking for a Finance Analyst for Independence Power and Light. The IPL Finance Analyst’s responsibilities include but are not limited to: Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from college with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, Public or Business Administration, or related field; AND Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience performing above and related duties; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Must complete required NIMS level training within first six months of hire. Knowledge of principles and practices of municipal budget preparation and accounting; principles of city management; pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; analyze written materials and financial reports; prepare clear and concise administrative and financial reports and research and identify critical data to report in support of goals; work independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function; demonstrate proficiency with spr...
