Job description

Located at Miami Valley Hospital's Histology Department (Dayton, OH) Full-Time Day Shift (10:30 AM-7:00 PM) With Every Sixth Saturday Rotation Position Summary: Perform various support functions in the histology laboratory. These includes, but not limited to, specimen handling and preparation, data entry and assisting pathology staff and Histotech's with daily duties. Responsibilities: Qualifications: - Performs data entry in to the AP computer system. - Use all menu pathways of the Epic and AP computer system as required for assigned job functions. - Use laboratory instrumentation in a limited fashion under the supervision of your manager. - Perform preliminary set up for the pathology assistant or pathologist to perform specimen grossing. - Handle client-related questions and concerns in a courteous and efficient manner following department policies and procedures. - Handle specimens in accordance with quality and safety regulations to ensure accurate histologic test results. - Comply with all company, department and regulatory policies and procedures which include compliance and safety protocols. - Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the organization by performing other d...
