THE SALVATION ARMY NORTH & CENTRAL ILLINOIS DIVISION: OAKBROOK TERRACE CORPS: POSITION DESCRIPTION: POSITION TITLE: Child Care Worker: LOCATION/DEPT: Oakbrook Terrace Corps: REPORTS TO: Youth Development Director: FLSA CATEGORY: Non-Exempt: STATUS TYPE: RPT: PAY GRADE: 201: PAY RANGE: $16.60 – $20.00: OUTCOMES: Develop age-appropriate programs and care for infants through elementary-aged children. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Oversee the care of children in the Corps nursery or gym during various activities. - Assist to plan age-appropriate programs for toddlers, pre-school, and elementary aged children. - Recommend to the Corps Officer appropriate games, toys, books, and resources that will enable a wholesome experience for children. - Attend training that will ensure the proper care and safety of children, i.e., CPR, First Aid, Safe from Harm. - Maintain adequate supply of resource materials to administer the program. - Promote participation of parents and other trained helpers. - Facilitate training, as necessary, for helpers in the childcare program. - All other duties as assigned.
