Nursery Aide

Position Summary: The Nursery Aide is responsible to provide nurturing, age-appropriate care for children ages 0 – 5 and for implementing all aspects of nursery programming and operations. This role must ensure that all nursery operations follow The Salvation Army’s standards as well as federal, state, and local guidelines. Above all, this position supports and reflects the mission of The Salvation Army by nurturing children in an atmosphere of compassion and faith. Qualifications: Education/Experience: - Ensure a safe, orderly, structured environment for infants and preschool children in the nursery. - Supervise children during all activities in the nursery - Implement programs for children in the nursery including weekly Christian curriculum, structured entertainment and food needs - Supervise the volunteers that are assigned to assist - Meet with supervisor weekly to review nursery operations - Check in and out the children so they are safely returned to their appropriate parents or guardians - Maintain a positive work atmosphere and communicate in a manner that fosters good communication and relationships with clients, co-workers and supervisors.
