Position Summary: Pharmacy Interns perform the professional functions associated with the practice of Pharmacy. Interns work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist in accordance with the rules and regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy. Education, License & Cert: Candidates must have completed at least 2 years of General Education Requirements and be enrolled in an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy. Candidates with lesser experience but are focused on pursuing a career in pharmacy will be considered if open positions allow. Current NY State Pharmacy Intern License in good standing required. Experience: Prior experience in institutional pharmacy is preferred. Essential Functions: All pharmacy functions within the department under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist; including, but not limited to: 1. Order processing 2. Clinical evaluations 3. Inventory control 4. Drug information 5. Drug distribution 6. IV compounding 7. When needed, works as a pharmacy technician or inventory control clerk.
