Job description
This role promotes evidence-based lactation practices, assists with complex feeding concerns, and collaborates with physicians, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff to improve maternal–infant health outcomes. This position requires a Level II Background check and drug screen. This position is grant funded. - Provide direct lactation consultation and develop individualized care plans for patients. - Address breastfeeding challenges including latch issues, milk supply, and infant feeding. - Educate patients on pumping, milk storage, and return-to-work planning. - Serve as a resource for OB/GYN faculty, residents, and staff on lactation best practices. - Document care in the electronic health record and participate in departmental initiatives. - Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Lactation best practices, Document care in the electronic health record - Communication Minimum Qualifications: - RN, APP, or other healthcare background. - Experience in maternal–infant care or women’s health - Strong teaching, communication, and collaborative skills.
