Rowan University – Glassboro Campus Position : Professional Service Specialist III (PSS3) Department : Chemistry and Biochemistry: Building : Science Hall (and/or Discovery Hall) Description: The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry seeks a well-trained and skilled laboratory technician to prepare and assist the laboratory portion of the courses offered in the department. The successful candidate will be able to perform the following duties and possess the qualifications listed below. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinate laboratory procedures and schedules for service courses with emphasis and primary responsibilities in organic and/or general chemistry curriculum Coordinate with departmental chemical hygiene officer to determine lab and chemical safety requirements for laboratory experiments, including hazardous compound storage, usage, and disposal. Oversee laboratory exercise scheduling for optimal usage and efficiency Develop course scheduling plans in conjunction with the department chair/head for optimal laboratory resource utilization Maintain department protocols for laboratory exercises and reagents Prepare reagents, standards, and solutions as needed to r...
