Last date to apply: 14 May 2026 We are now looking for master students in mechanical engineering, that are interested in doing their thesis project at our 2-stroke engine development department. Within our Global Handheld R&D division, we are driving the development of the next generation of powertrains, where the two‑stroke engine plays a central role for our most demanding users, both today and in the future. The Base Engine team is responsible for the cylinder, piston, crankshaft, and bearings, including interfaces with other subsystems. Background: Threaded holes with wedge ramp features, such as Spiralock™ and Safe-Lock™, to improve the performance of screw joints have been on the market for some time. However, the performance depends on factors such as temperature, vibration and material. Data from scientific testing under application-like conditions would be required to properly map advantages and disadvantages of wedge ramp threads in our products.
