Employment Type: Full time Shift: Description: MercyOne Genesis is seeking a highly motivated Pathology Assistant to join our collaborative and well-established pathology team. This role plays a critical part in supporting diagnostic services through surgical pathology, working closely with board-certified pathologists in a high-quality, patient-focused environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a Pathology Assistant who enjoys a mix of grossing, and advanced laboratory procedures, with rare autopsy support in a collegial and team-oriented setting. Key Responsibilities: - Perform gross examination and description of surgical specimens - Prepare and submit tissue for light microscopy and special studies - Coordinate and obtain specimens for advanced testing (e.g., flow cytometry, cytogenetics, cultures, immunofluorescence, electron microscopy) - Collaborate with pathologists to determine appropriate special techniques (e.g., tumor triage, frozen sections, toxicology, perfusion, etc.) - Ensure accurate specimen accessioning and documentation - Obtain relevant clinical history and medical records for case review - Maintain and follow surgical pathology protocols - Ensure proper...
