Job Description​ Our GI clinic in North Kansas City is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their team! This position is approximately 70% on the phones and 30% rooming. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, equally comfortable dealing with insurance companies and patient concerns. On the phones, you will work with prior authorizations, medication refills, scheduling, referrals, and procedure follow up care. Our rooming expectations are standard – obtain vitals, perform medication reconciliation, and review medical history. Previous GI experience is a plus, but not required. We support our GI providers as a team. You should be comfortable taking notes and adapting to multiple providers. Our patients can be very sick so we need someone compassionate and understanding when handling calls from upset patients. If you are organized, can take direction well but not be afraid to ask questions as needed, and are a strong team member who is willing to jump in and help then this position may be for you!
