Description SUMMARY : The Teacher is responsible for the daily operations of the Center-based Head Start classroom including teaching and related operations and following the Federal Head Start Performance Standards and State guidelines. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. - Ensures that the Head Start learning environment is safe, healthy, and includes developmentally appropriate activities and materials for the Head Start enrolled children following the Health & Safety standards. - Ensures that the Head Start program offers learning experiences and choices for children’s development in all the following areas: Physical, Social/Emotional, Cognitive, Communication, Creative, and Spiritual, literacy, math, social studies and science - Monitors enrollment and attendance to maintain maximum class size and an average 85% average daily attendance. - Participates in lesson planning, developing materials and the implementation of activities in the classroom. - Participates in necessary clean-up and set-up activities to keep the environment neat, tidy, aesthetically pleasing and inviting to children. - Participates as a team member with parent...
