Description The Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies at Brown University invites applications for a three-year Visiting Assistant Professor, effective July 1, 2026. We hope to recruit a committed scholar whose research and teaching address Latin American and/or Caribbean history, culture, society, and politics from an innovative and interdisciplinary perspective. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong research agenda and a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. We encourage applicants from a broad range of disciplines, including but not limited to history, anthropology, literature, cultural studies, sociology, political science, geography, and related fields. Regional specialization is open, though we are particularly interested in candidates whose work engages transnational, comparative, or diasporic frameworks, as well as themes such as colonialism, race and ethnicity, migration, environmental history, or the history of science and knowledge.
