Design Engineer - Dynamic Studies and Modeling

The Opportunity Ulteig is currently seeking talented and motivated Design Engineer level engineering candidates to support dynamic power system studies within the Renewables – Electrical department. This position would focus on PSSE, PSLF, and PSCAD dynamic models and studies for various applications including supporting Interconnection Applications for renewable plants, NERC compliance studies, and/or supporting custom models developed in house. What You'll Do: The Design Engineer develops and tests renewable energy models, performs dynamic system studies, supports interconnection applications, and collaborates with clients to meet evolving grid and compliance requirements. The Design Engineer for the dynamic studies team is expected to perform the following tasks: - Develop PSSE, PSLF, TSAT and PSCAD models of renewable plants - Perform model quality tests and model benchmarking for various software models. - Understand dynamic model block diagrams and tune parameters to meet regional model performance requirements. - Support interconnection applications; tasks include preliminary plant design, assemble simple preliminary drawings, and completing application forms with design inf...
