Measurement Engineering Internship At Colorado Springs Utilities, the work of Measurement Engineering offers a unique opportunity for college students to bridge the gap between electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering disciplines. This role is critical as it touches all three of our commodities, Electric, Gas, and Water, providing a comprehensive view of how we measure, monitor, and manage our metering infrastructure to support the meter to cash cycle. This work is unique in that it requires a blend of data analytics, hardware testing, and field operations. Developing talent in this niche field has historically been difficult; therefore, this internship is designed not only to support immediate project needs but to cultivate a local talent pipeline for future Engineer positions. This is a Summer + School Year position; it requires 40 hours/week from May through August, transitioning to 10–20 hours/week during the academic year. This structure is essential for maintaining momentum on the Aging Infrastructure project and ensuring the student gains solid experience for future opportunities.
