Job description

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Capital Projects, the Senior Accountant Fixed Assets is responsible for preparing journal entries and performing fixed asset and construction in progress (CIP) reconciliations for the monthly general ledger close. This position supports the integrity of capital asset accounting and contributes to the accuracy of financial reporting. The role requires a high level of attention to detail, the ability to manage complex transactions, and coordination with departments to ensure compliance with accounting standards and deadlines. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Is responsible for the Fixed Asset management system, including recording the cost of newly acquired fixed assets (tangible and intangible), tracking existing assets, recording depreciation, and accounting for disposals for high-volume and complex entities. 2. Is responsible for timely capitalization of completed Construction In Progress (CIP) and Information Technology (IT) projects. 3. Is responsible for the preparation of accurate general ledger entries and reconciliations for month-end closing of the books in a timely manner. 4.
