$1500.00 Sign On Bonus - internal candidates only Location/Department: Orthopedic - Physician Services: 72 hours per pay period - benefit eligible Job Summary: Performs medical assisting functions, facilitates communication & assists with patient care in the outpatient setting. Orthopedic CMA also assists physicians in the care & treatment of patients with orthopedic needs in a clinic facility. Maintains the cast room & orthopedic equipment & devices. Assists with the application & removal of casts & other related duties. Duties/Responsibilities: - Uses only approved abbreviations. - Understands patient safety goals & actions taken. - Uses 2 patient identifiers before giving treatments, demonstrates process. - Assists patients into exam rooms in a prompt, efficient, & friendly manner. - Takes vital signs & prepares patient for exam in an accurate & appropriate manner. - Transports patients safely & efficiently. - Assists as needed with patient care as requested including set-up & tear down of procedures. - Prepares & mails appropriate preparation instructions to patients. - Inquires & documents in patient’s medical record as appropriate regarding x-rays & test results for patient a...
