Schedule : Full Time Day Shifts Work Location: Arnett Hospital: Department Supported: Public Safety: Primary Responsibilities: Provides direction and guidance to team members, guests, and patients. Counsels, coaches and evaluates subordinate personnel. Assists teams with de-escalating tense, uncertain and emotional situations and proactively works to prevent crime and safety incidents. Creates a safe healthcare environment for team members, patients, and guests. Serves as shift commander and supervises sergeants, police officers and Public Safety Officers. Issues work assignments and supervises work activities of all assigned personnel. Complete and approve work schedules to ensure proper shift coverage. Conducts rounding and foot and vehicle patrols in and around properties that are owned, leased, or occupied by IU Health. Responds to calls for service and investigates criminal activity and vehicle crashes as needed. Enforces and assists in the enforcement of IU Health rules, regulations, policies and state statutes. Maintains records and logs and completes written reports as required. Performs physical security screening as required. Assists other public safety agencies as needed...
