Classification Title: Assistant Professor Classification Minimum Requirements: PhD, MD or MD/PhD in the biomedical sciences or a related field of study Job Description: The Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at the University of Florida (UF) College of Medicine invites applications for a tenure/tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Genetics. The Department has begun a major expansion of the faculty as part of a 5-year strategic plan. We seek outstanding creative investigators in any area of genetics, including but not limited to gene expression and regulation, functional genomics and systems biology, developmental genetics, immunogenetics, molecular mechanisms of disease, evolutionary genetics, and other related fields. The Department has active research programs in mammalian (human, mouse), Drosophila, viral, bacterial, cancer, and comparative genetics, together with expertise in gene discovery, genome editing, transcriptional and co/post-transcriptional regulation, RNA biochemistry disease mechanisms, structural biology, protein biochemistry, multi-omics, and computational biology.
