Description The Department of Anthropology and Sociology at Knox College invites applications for a one-year appointment as visiting assistant professor of anthropology beginning September 1, 2024. There is a possibility of renewal. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research focuses on on Science and Technology Studies; Political Anthropology; or Medical Anthropology. We are especially interested in candidates whose research focuses on geographical areas other than the Caribbean and Latin America. Knox is an independent, selective liberal arts institution with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching in a diverse environment. The Anthropology and Sociology Department offers a joint integrative major that culminates in faculty-supervised student research. The College has three 10-week academic terms per year, with a teaching load of two courses per term. The successful candidate will have experience using qualitative research methods and be prepared to supervise students conducting ethnographic research, including participation in our senior research sequence.
