Description NYU Silver School of Social Work Job Opportunity: Research Assistant: Location: 1 Washington Square North, NY, NY 10003 Part-Time: 10 hours/week; Hybrid: Expected Starting Date: ASAP: Contact: si880@nyu.edu: Compensation: $30/hour: Dr. Sireen Irsheid at the NYU Silver School of Social Work is seeking a Data Science Research Assistant (master’s or PhD level) with strong existing skills in quantitative data analysis and experience working with large datasets to support ongoing projects focused on equity in education and disrupting school pushout. Job Description: The intern will work on the Disrupting School Pushout project, which examines how systemic factors contribute to school pushout in New York City. The project connects data on neighborhood-level opportunity structures and school resource allocation with information about students’ academic and mental health outcomes. Job responsibilities include: - Conducting descriptive and advanced statistical analyses (including multilevel modeling) on extant and merged datasets using SAS and Stata. - Working with large datasets, including merging files into the data archive. - Creating clear data visualizations to communicate...
